uMhlanga’s Skabenga goes missing

An appeal has been made to the public to contact the hotel with any information that could assist with the recovery of Skabenga.

THE beloved and famous feline resident at the Oyster Box Hotel in uMhlanga has gone missing.

Staff and visitors alike have raised concern for Skabenga, as he has not been seen since 1.3opm yesterday afternoon.

Alarms were raised when the treasured tomcat did not show up for his regular breakfast this morning.

“We last caught sight of him on the camera surveillance system yesterday afternoon at around 1.30pm. It is so out of character for him, as he is normally seen lounging around the hotel area,” said Oyster Box spokeswoman, Joanne Hayes.

Hayes confirmed that hotel staff had searched the entire property but failed to find any trace of him.

What was most concerning was that Skabenga seemed a bit unwell over the weekend, she said.

An appeal has been made to the public to contact the hotel with any information that could assist with the recovery of  Skabenga.

“We ask that the public only contact us should they have information that could help us locate Skabenga. We are very appreciative with regards to the concern that we have received from the public. Regular updates will be posted onto his Facebook profile,” added Hayes

The feline celebrated his tenth birthday in October last year.  Contact the Oyster Box Hotel on 031 514 5000.
