Teens rob woman at knife-point

Four teenagers held a woman, carrying her baby, at knife-point before attempting to steal her handbag.

THE Greenwood Park community expressed shock and outrage yesterday after four adolescent boys held a woman at knife-point. At the time of the incident the woman was carrying a baby on her back.

According to Tyron Powell of Marshall Security, the teens accosted the woman on Park Station Road in Greenwood Park at approximately 1.45pm, threatening her at knife-point. Before attempting to flee the scene the gang swiped the woman’s handbag, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash.

One of the brazen youths committed the crime while wearing his school uniform.

“The quick response and teamwork between our reaction officers and the Greenwood Park community resulted in the four young suspects being apprehended and arrested this afternoon,” said Powell.

He confirmed that the knife, as well as the stolen bag and cash, were recovered.
