Car mounts roundabout after accident

A DRIVER who was rear-ended by a minibus taxi ended up crashing into the centre island of the roundabout at the intersection of Umhlanga Rocks Drive and Armstrong Avenue. The force of the impact propelled the car, an orange Kia Picanto, onto the roundabout.

According to Neil Powell from Crisis Medical no one was injured in the bizarre accident.

“It is believed the driver of the car was on the outer circle when a minibus taxi driver coming from Armstrong Avenue smacked into the back of the car. It was then pushed on to the roundabout island and ended up mounting it,” he said.

Police are still investigating the accident and traffic is slow-moving at the moment.
