Petrol price to drop again

SA motorists rejoice as petrol price takes another dive.

THERE is more good news for motorists as the retail prices of both grades of petrol will drop by 93 cents a litre on Wednesday. The drop was announced by the department of energy on Friday following a record drop at the beginning of the year.

The most significant drop in fuel prices is the massive R1.50/kg decrease in the maximum retail price for LPGas.

This is the second drop this year following the record R1.27 decrease.

Minister of Energy, Tina Joematt Pettersson, urged motorists to continue to use fuel saving tips and the consumers of other petroleum products.

Based on current local and international factors, the fuel prices for February in the South African market will be adjusted as follows:

1. Petrol will decrease by 93 cents/litre.

2. Diesel will decrease by 102 cents/litre

3. Illuminating paraffin (SMNRP) will decrease by 136 cents/litre

4. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will decrease by 150 cents/kilogram
