Three bodies discovered in Durban North

Police believe all three men, whose bodies were discovered in separate incidents over the weekend, were all murdered.

THREE people have been found dead in three separate incidents in Durban North this weekend. Police suspect all three of the victims, who were male, had been murdered. The first body was discovered on Friday afternoon at the La Lucia Mall staff entrance at about 3pm.

According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, the grisly discovery was made by a staff member.

“At this point in time, we suspect the man was struck on the back of the head. He had a wound to the top of his head.”

On Saturday a second body was found floating near the mouth of the uMgeni River.

“A fisherman spotted the bloated body and called police. The search and rescue team were called and discovered a man with dreadlocks, and a green tracksuit. He had a open wound to the back of his head and a number of his teeth had been smashed in,” Deokaran said.

The third body was discovered near Mangrove Park, Durban North. Police found the body with several stab wounds.

“We believe the victim may have been a vagrant and is in his 40s.”
