Vagrant quarrel heats up in Virginia

Two shacks burned down in the bushes near the Virginia Airport, after vagrants became involved in a verbal quarrel.

AN alleged argument between two vagrants became so heated that the men resorted to torching each others shacks in the bushes between the M4 and the Virginia Runway, on Tuesday, 2 September.

The fire also spread to the piles of rubbish strewn along the bushes.

Jimmy Hollows, of the Greenwood Park CPF, was in the area at the time of the incident and responded to the scene. “I spotted the smoke from Lindsay Drive, and thought it might be a car that was on fire. When I arrived I saw that the shacks were burning,” he said.

Hollows said one of the vagrants involved in the alleged argument told him and police that the incident had been the result of a verbal argument.

Although the structures were completely consumed no one was injured during the blaze. At the time of publication it is unknown if the vagrants involved in the altercation were arrested or charged. The cause of the verbal dispute is also unknown.

“The vagrants are a big problem in most areas, but this was a particularly disgusting mess,” said Hallows.
