Science Centre to close its doors on Monday

In addition to moving to a new premises the KZN Science Centre is planning to undertake the largest mobile science awareness and intervention programme in South Africa.

AFTER more than 12 years of formal and informal education the KZN Science Centre at Gateway will be moving to a new premises on Monday, 14 July. Over the next few months the pedagogic facility and non profit organisation will also be embarking on a new venture – the largest mobile science awareness and intervention programme in South Africa.

The CEO centre Candice Potgieter said the new home of the organisation will be announced soon. “A decision was made to move to a new location after the centre’s lease recently came to an end. The new premises will improve the centre’s accessibility, while providing a larger exhibition floor and economical rent for the local NPO,”said Potgieter.

Since its establishment in 2002 the centre has served more than one million pupils, educators and parents through various activities offered at its physical premises and through the mobile community programmes.
