Baby House needs your help

Justin Foxton from the La Lucia Baby House, appeals to the community for their help.

THE Baby House in La Lucia recently welcomed its newest arrival in the form of two-month-old baby boy ‘Spud’. Spud was found abandoned in Grey Street in the city centre almost two weeks ago.

The Baby House is run under The Peace Agency (NGO) and accepts no more than six babies at a time.

Founder of The Peace Agency, Justin Foxton, said every month, countless newborn babies are abandoned by mothers unable to care for them. A select number of these babies find their way into baby homes which are safe havens that care for the needs of these children from birth until one year, during which time adoptive parents are looked for to provide permanent homes.

“Despite the circumstances he was found, Spud has been eating well, he’s very lively and he’s got quite a voice,” Foxton said.

He added that The Baby House was in need of donors. “If anyone would be willing to contribute, any amount would be great,” he said. Contact Justin on 082 354 1839 or justin@peaceagency.org.za
