Three arrested for woman’s murder

A woman and two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 61-year-old Redhill resident.

KISTOMMA Andnee’s death will not go unsolved thanks to Greenwood Park Police Station’s detectives’ arrest of a woman and two men recently.

On 18 October last year, Andnee’s body was found by family members after her daughter became worried that she could not get hold of her mother via telephone. According to Greenwood Park Police Station’s spokesman, Lt Elvis Naidoo, the elderly woman had been strangled to death with a cord.

The detectives made a breakthrough on Tuesday 7 January when they arrested a woman and two men in connection with the 61-year-old Redhill resident’s murder.

Lt Naidoo said it is believed one of the men was Andnee’s estranged boyfriend and the other was a man who had done maintenance work at her home. It is not clear who the woman is.

“The three suspects appeared in court on Friday 10 January. The case was postponed to a later date and the suspects have been remanded in custody. Bail was opposed,” Lt Naidoo said.
