Promoting love and unity

Local resident hosts Carols in the Park.

LOVE your neighbour as yourself is a saying Glen Hills’ resident, Emil Swanepoel, lives by. With most of South Africa becoming increasingly isolated from their local communities, Swanepoel said he’s hoping to change that perception in the Durban North community.

With this in mind, he will be hosting the Picnic and Christmas Carols in the Park event on 1 December.

The picnic will be held in upper Rinaldo Park at the intersection of Rinaldo Road and Tipuana Drive.

“I’ve always wanted to do something like this for the local community. My hope is to unite the Durban North community but also foster and grow the concept of loving your neighbour. The event begins at 5pm with a live band, made up of community residents, with the Christmas Carols starting at 6pm. Swanepoel added the event also had a charity aspect to it with all donations going towards the Ray of Hope Babies Home.
