Big words and empty promises have no meaning

EDITOR- I refer to Siya's response to our previous letters where I point out using statements that are offensive and derogatory to a particular race, will not solve anything.

There are lots of poverty-stricken areas throughout KZN. Yes, certain suburbs are notorious for their wealth like La Lucia, but they also have less wealthy sub areas within them!

Why not open your eyes and look around you. People of all colours are suffering. If you were a true citizen of South Africa, you would have taken note of the many news articles of quite a few Indian people complaining and saying they were better off in the past, thus making your comment: “However,

he fails to mention that most Indian’s lives have improved since 1994.” Null and void.

I am a peoples’ person and do not appreciate the slandering/ isolation of any one particular race. The wealthy Indians you refer to are few and far between,(compared to the many that struggle to get by) and probably due to the fact that those families have something we can all learn from, sticking together looking after each other.

Have you not seen the white and Indian homeless people begging at the robots in Durban? The ANC has made a lot of empty promises and misled a lot of people, mostly the poverty-stricken people.

I do not owe you an explanation or empirical proof on my statements about the difficulties whites are facing. However, I am an educated person who used to work in a financial institution and, when seeking new employment, was told by the manager of a different financial institution they cannot take me on because they will be penalised for not being BEE compliant because they need more black people!

This is saddening and proof of how far the levels of corruption have ascended to.

People are all individuals and have different circumstances, but should not be judged by their colour alone! Your statements appear to be all theory.

For the future disasters to be averted, we all need to work together and be on the same page, not redistribute a fictitious wealth some think is owed to them. Currently, there doesn’t seem to be any wealth to distribute in any case. So we need to work on restoring the fundamentals of this economy!
