It was more than a walk

Saturday 31 August was like a breath of fresh air again as we all met on the fields of Crusaders amid lots of laughter and fun for the crime walk.

EDITOR – As a resident of Durban North for the past 30 years, I have sadly watched the crime increase in this beautiful suburb where neighbours have locked themselves up behind electric fencing and high walls.

Saturday 31 August was like a breath of fresh air again as we all met on the fields of Crusaders amid lots of laughter and fun for the crime walk.

We then walked around Durban North. Families, their pets, grandparents and anyone who wanted to join in, did. It was a truly wonderful day all round.

A special thank you to those who got this drive going: Marshall Security, Enforce, SAPS, the fire department, Netcare911, Johan von Bargen and many volunteers who gave up their time and helped to make this an amazing event.

There was interesting anti-hijacking advice and the rescuing of victims in a car accident as well. All very interesting indeed.

After the event people braaied and watched the rugby together. Great for getting to know one-another and seeing what is happening in our community and participate.

Thank you once again to you all and to those who chose not to participate you really missed out on an amazing day.

We need to look out for each other!!
