Suspect found with bloody palms in Park Hill

A broken glass window in a school near to a complainant's home with bloodstains on a classroom floor led to the apprehension of a suspect with bleeding palms.

A PARK Hill school was broken into on Sunday night, and the perpetrator allegedly linked to the break-in was arrested a short while later.

Marshall Security’s dispatch centre received a call from a resident on Edgeley Road, who stated that they heard the sound of breaking glass.

“The resident couldn’t establish if the sound had come from his property or somewhere else. When armed response officers arrived at the property, the caller indicated that his property was safe,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

Officers searched the area and found that the shattered glass was at a nearby school.

“The school was inspected, and a broken classroom window was discovered. In the meantime, another Marshall Security officer found a suspicious individual near Edgeley Road with bleeding palms,” added Powell.

The suspect was taken back to the school where bloodstains on the floor inside the classroom confirmed that he had broken into the school.

“The school principal was called to the scene. Greenwood Park SAPS then took the suspect into custody for further investigation and processing,” said Powell.
