Alan, the owner of Etchings Gallery in Durban North, was last seen at his residence on Friday.

His father, whom he checked up on daily, became worried when he didn’t hear from Alan. He contacted Alan’s brother, Brian, who opened a missing persons case.

Speaking to Northglen News, Brian said he and his family were deeply disheartened by the news.

“Police called me this morning (Wednesday) to tell me that my brother had been murdered. No other details were shared with me. I don’t understand who would want to harm him. He was such a loving and kind person. He took care of people. He had a good heart,” said Brian.

Brian, who lives in Mpumulanga, was on his way to Durban when he spoke to Northglen News.

“The police did not give me any further details but said they would speak to me in person once I arrived in Durban,” he added.
