City welcomes new fleet of tractors

In launching the new fleet of tractors and the start of the new grass-cutting cycle, Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda was confident that these resources will address the grass-cutting challenges experienced.

THE eThekwini Municipality has unveiled its latest grass-cutting schedule and welcomed a new fleet of tractors on Friday last week at the Wiggins Sports Ground in Cato Manor.

Durban mayor Mxolisi Kaunda unveiled 30 tractors, which will be used for grass cutting, and also outlined the latest grass-cutting schedule, with the first of a five-week cycle commenced last week and ends on October 6.

The five-week cycle is one of seven cycles that will be implemented until May 31, 2024.

Kaunda thanked municipal workers who work to ensure grass is cut, despite very difficult circumstances sometimes.

“We applaud your efforts and hard work to ensure that the city is clean and well-maintained,” he said.

In launching the new fleet of tractors and the start of the new grass-cutting cycle, Mayor Kaunda was confident that these resources will address the grass-cutting challenges experienced.

He encouraged collaboration among municipal departments to achieve a clean city.
