ONE person was arrested after being found in possession of stolen property in Durban North on Sunday.
Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre received a panic activation from a client on Oxford Drive who said they had seen the suspect in a neighbouring property.
“Armed response officers were immediately dispatched and while conducting a property check, spotted a suspect attempting to flee with a stolen rim from the property. The suspect was swiftly apprehended,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.
The homeowner decided that they would press charges, and the Durban North SAPS was contacted and arrived on scene.
“The suspect was then transported to Durban North Police Station for further processing and investigation,” said Powell.
In a separate incident on Saturday morning, Marshall Security was alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked on Rosary Road in the Kenville area.
“Upon inspection, it was found that the vehicle’s ignition had been tampered with. It was established with the SAPS that the vehicle was stolen during the course of this evening on Blackburn Road in the Park Hill area,” said Powell.
The Greenwood Park SAPS transported the vehicle to the police station for further investigation and processing.
