Man shot in hotel robbery in uMhlanga

An attempted robbery has left one person with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

ONE person was shot during an armed robbery at an upmarket hotel in uMhlanga earlier today.

Operations manager Kimberly Liell-Cock said Medi Response Advanced Life Support Paramedics responded to reports of a shooting where they found a male patient had sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

“On arrival of Medi Response paramedics, it was established that a male patient had sustained a single gunshot wound to the abdomen during an attempted robbery,” she said.

“The patient was stabilised on scene before being transported by advanced life support paramedics to a nearby facility for further care,” added Liell-Cock.

All services are on scene, and the area has been made safe.
