Danville Park learners bare their soles

Danville Park Girls’ High School partnered with Rotary for the school-shoe collection initiative.

AFTER the Danville Park Girls’ High School matric class of 2022 wrote their final matric exam, they stepped out of their school shoes and left them behind to be donated to charity.

This year, Danville partnered with Rotary for the school-shoe collection initiative, making a significant change, one school, one child and one pair of shoes at a time.

School principal Linda Scholtz thanked the girls for their donations.

“The shoes are all kept together in pairs and marked with shoe sizes so they can be easily sorted and distributed to the relevant schools for their 2023 year. These shoes have been handed over to Rotary and will be distributed to the recipient school in January next year, bringing smiles to many faces and offering a helping hand to financially strapped families,” she said.
