Elderly couple held up in Avoca Hills home robbery

Two of the suspects were armed with a knife and a gun.

THREE armed suspects stormed a home in Avoca Hills in a house robbery on Thursday evening.

The incident occurred at about 19:00 on Edenderry Road.

Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell said two of the suspects were armed with a knife and firearm.

“The suspects held up an elderly couple at their home in Avoca Hills. They spent approximately 15 minutes rifling through the house for valuables until leaving in the couple’s silver VW Polo, as well.

“A short while later, we assisted Tracker SA with locating the stolen vehicle that had been taken in the house robbery. After an extensive track, the vehicle was finally found, abandoned, and recovered in the Ntuzuma B Section,” he said.

Powell added that the items taken during the house robbery were not recovered.
