GATEWAY influencer, Chef Nono shares a tomato pasta recipe that’s so easy to make. This recipe is perfect for children to try, so let mom put her feet up and enjoy a homecooked meal. The best part is that it can be ready by the time your pasta has cooked.
This recipe comes together quickly and uses everyday ingredients. You’ll love the silky tomato sauce!
Ingredients
• 2 tbsp. butter
• 1/2 tbsp. oil
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 1–2 cloves of garlic, crushed
• 2 tins tomato purée
• 1/2 tsp dried oregano
• salt and pepper to taste
• 1 cup cheddar or parmesan cheese, grated
• 250 g pasta (cooked according to packet instructions)
Method
1. Add the butter and oil to a pan and melt. Add in the onion and cook on a medium heat for 2-3 minutes until it starts to soften. Add the garlic and fry for another couple of minutes, stirring regularly.
2. Pour in the tomato purée, dried oregano and mix well.
3. Cook on a high simmer for 10-12 minutes. Now add cooked pasta. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well. Serve.
