Vehicle stolen from Rose Hill recovered in half an hour

The vehicle had been badly stripped by the car thieves.

A LOCAL resident’s vehicle was recovered half an hour after it was stolen from Acutt Avenue on Saturday night.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the resident flagged down an armed response office just after 19:35.

“The resident said his VW Polo had been stolen from outside his residence. While circulating the details of the stolen vehicle to all our officers, members of our Special Operations Team (SOT) were activated to assist Tracker SA.

“The stolen vehicle was recovered in the Newlands West area. The vehicle had been stripped and abandoned and was recovered by the SOT, Tracker SA and the SAPS Durban Flying Squad. The vehicle’s number plates had been removed and were found inside the vehicle,” he said.

He added that no arrest had been made following the theft.
