IEB 2021 matric results: Crawford College La Lucia obtains 100% pass rate

An event was held at the school this morning and learners were commended for their efforts.

A TOTAL of 113 Crawford College International La Lucia learners wrote the IEB exam and achieved a 100% pass rate.

The school’s principal, Carolyn Warwick, congratulated its matriculants at an event held at the college on Wednesday.

“Well done on your matric results. You are all great influencers who leave a legacy of empathy and positive influence in the school community. I wish you all good health, success and happiness,” she said.

Mira Pillay, who achieved nine distinctions, said there was intense preparation involved, and not a lot of studying.

Her chosen subjects were Afrikaans, English, French, history, life orientation, life sciences, mathematics, physical science and advanced programme English.

“I didn’t have to study much as all the preparations through the year made it easier to achieve my goals. I was really chilled and just did my best,” she said.

The 17-year-old Ballito teen said she plans to study medicine at the University of Cape Town.

“I’m still waiting for the final acceptance letter, but I am pretty confident that I have been accepted. My second option would be to go to Wits,” she said.

Pillay plans on majoring in psychiatry as she has a passion for mental health.

Luke Lotter of uMhlanga said he can breathe a sigh of relief now that his matric year is over.

“I am really happy with my marks. I’m usually a C student, but I achieved a lot of Bs,” he said.

The wheelchair basketball champ said he plans on attending the University of Alabama through a scholarship and is awaiting the finer details. His second option would be to go to culinary school.

The school’s Dux, Andrew Williams, achieved 8 As for Afrikaans, English, geography, information technology, life orientation, mathematics, physical sciences and advanced programme mathematics.
