13 injured in Cornubia taxi crash

"On arrival, paramedics were met with mayhem as the twisted wreckage of a Toyota Quantum occupied the roadway and the injured were found clambering to safety," said Kyle van Reenen.

A TAXI crash in the Cornubia area has left numerous people with injuries ranging from moderate to life-threatening. 

According to Emer-G-Med’s Kyle van Reenen the crash occurred just after 06.30 today, September 7, on the M41 westbound just after the N2.

“On arrival, paramedics were met with mayhem as the twisted wreckage of a Toyota Quantum occupied the roadway and the injured were found clambering to safety,” said van Reenen.

“An on-scene triage area was established by scene commanders and as many as 13 commuters were found to have sustained injuries ranging from moderate to life-threatening,” he added.

He said a call was made by the Emer-G-Med emergency operations centre for more resources and once stabilised on scene, the injured were taken to nearby medical facilities.
