Voter registration weekend for Ward 36 by-elections looms

According to the IEC, voting stations will be open from 8am to 5pm over the weekend.

A VOTER registration weekend will be held on Saturday, 3 and Sunday, 4 October for those who are yet to register for the voter’s roll.

The registration weekend is an opportunity for new voters to register and for registered voters to change their voting station ahead of the by-elections scheduled for 11 November.

By-elections are scheduled in all nine provinces across 461 voting districts, affecting over 600 000 registered voters.

One of those wards affected is Ward 36, which was vacated by former DA councillor, Shaun Ryley last year.
