Durban mother charged for killing son dies days ahead of trial
The matter will be heard in the Durban High Court on 27 July.
A MOTHER charged with murdering her seven-year-old son at an uMhlanga Bed and Breakfast two years ago, has allegedly passed away days before she was set to stand trial.
Megan Prins allegedly fed her son, Sloan (7) adult medication before smothering him in his sleep in 2018. It is believed she tried to commit suicide thereafter.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority, (NPA) Natasha Kara, said the court has requested a death certificate.

“The matter was heard in court this morning. The state was advised that she has passed away. We have requested a death certificate,” said Kara.
The matter will be heard in the Durban High Court on 27 July, added Kara.
