Durban North NPO calls for matrics to donate school shoes

Avid sport players are also called to donate sporting gear or clothes including T-shirts, shorts and sport shoes.

AS matric learners write their final exams, Durban North based NPO, Each One Reach One, is calling for donations of school shoes to uplift the less fortunate during the festive season. Avid sport players are also called to donate sporting gear or clothes including T-shirts, shorts and sport shoes.

Donors are requested to place their school shoes in a clear plastic bag with special note to the recipient. Uniforms and sports gear may be dropped off in boxes outside the EORO offices at 17B Spathodia Place in Glen Hills or at the One Stop Meat Market in Stonebridge Drive, Phoenix.

EORO Founder, Eshia Govender said their goal is to link neighbouring communities.
“Our neighbours’ needs are our needs. Their children are ours. The social divide is larger than we are told. If we each are able to reach out to one, we are able to rescue one child from becoming a statistic, which effects our entire province,” she said.

The NPO was founded in 2012, said Govender.
“Our aim is not to invent the wheel but network with other organisations to strengthen our impact. Sustainability is key. This can only come from building partnerships,” she added.
