The driver was ejected from the vehicle in the accident which occurred on Armstrong Avenue.

A 71-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life after an accident on Armstrong Avenue in La Lucia. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the accident occurred at about 6.30pm.

“When paramedics arrived on scene they found a light motor vehicle had overturned and rolled down an embankment. The elderly driver had been ejected from the vehicle having suffered life threatening injuries.

“With the assistance of an emergency care practitioner from Netcare 911, numerous advanced and intermediate life support interventions were needed to stabilize him, before he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for the immediate care that he required,” he explained.

At this stage the cause of the accident is unknown and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation said Van Reenen.
