Durban municipality suspects employers in cahoots with toilet roll thieves

eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela said municipal employees are suspected of playing a role in the robbery.

THE eThekwini Municipality has condemned the theft of 150 bales of municipal toilet rolls that were discovered during a Metro police raid recently.

As investigations continue, eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela said municipal employees are suspected of playing a role in the robbery.

The City is conducting an investigation to get to the bottom of this unlawful conduct. We suspect that some of our own are in cahoots with these criminal syndicates. We are appealing to members of the public and our employees to notify the City in the event of its belongings being in the wrong hands.”
