The victim was walking to his house on Blue Waters Lane when he was robbed.

A MAN was robbed at gunpoint on Blue Waters Lane in uMhlanga just after 1pm on Thursday.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the victim was walking to his house on Blue Waters Lane, which runs parallel to Marine Drive.

“The suspect snatched the victim’s bag which contained a cell phone, glasses and remotes and he fled into an awaiting vehicle. The suspect and his accomplices were using a black Citroen and drove off going towards Forest Drive. At this point we are still searching for the suspects and I can confirm a case has been opened,” Deokaran said.

According to Deokaran, there has been a number of incidents scattered across the policing precinct where pedestrians have been targeted.

“The robbers normally target lone pedestrians late at night or in the early hours of the morning. We are urging pedestrians, residents and visitors, where possible, to walk in groups,” he said.
