Housebreaking suspect nabbed in uMgeni Park

The suspect is linked to a spate of more than six housebreaking and theft cases in the greater north Durban area of late.

A SUSPECT wanted for multiple housebreaking incidents was arrested in uMgeni Park on Monday afternoon. Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, who made the arrest, said one of their company’s armed reaction officers in the area was flagged down by a member of the public.

“The member of public stated that they could identify a man who had recently broken into their home. The resident took our team to Riverside Road where a male suspect was stopped. A search revealed the man to be in possession of a laptop, several luxury watches and other items.

“The suspect was arrested on the scene and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.  Further information received revealed the items had been stolen in a housebreaking incident on Browns Drift Road,” he said.

According to van Reenen the suspect is linked to a spate of more than six housebreaking and theft cases in the greater north Durban area of late.
