Housebreaking suspect arrested in uMhlanga

The suspect was found in possession of various housebreaking implements as well as an okapi knife.

A HOUSEBREAKING suspect was nabbed on Mendoza Drive at 4am this morning.

According to Tyron Powell of Marshall Security, the suspect was found in possession of various housebreaking implements as well as an okapi knife.

“Two men had forced entry into a home in uMhlanga when they were disturbed by the homeowner who pressed his panic button alerting our emergency contact centre. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.

“The two suspects were later spotted by the Special Operations Team of the company on Broadwood Drive, a short distance from the initial crime scene. A foot chase ensued resulting in the arrest of one of the men,” Powell said.

The suspect was positively identified by the homeowner as being the man who forced entry into his home.

The suspect was handed over to the Durban North SAPS.
