Durban North police appeal for next of kin following 2017 accident

The victim was killed on the N2 last year when he tried to cross the freeway.

DURBAN North police are appealing for the next of kin for a man who died in 2017 on the N2. The victim was trying to cross the N2 freeway (close to Sunningdale) when he was struck by a truck. Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, said the victim had no identity documents on him after the accident.

“We are still trying to track his family or next of kin since May last year when he was killed. His face was badly disfigured so we aren’t able to show his face. He was an African male wearing blue overalls and a maroon cap. We believe he may have been working in the area at the time of his death,” he said.

Deokaran urged those who may have known the victim to contact Detective Mkhize on 031 560 8133 or contact the station on 031 560 8004.
