One killed in horror Sunningdale crash

Paramedics found the vehicle on its roof after smashing through a wall of a Blossom Close home

ONE person was killed after a horror car crash in Sunningdale in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the driver and only occupant of the vehicle had reportedly smashed through a boundary fence to a home in the Sunningdale area.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle on Umhlanga Rocks Drive, causing the BMW to careen off the roadway, rolling several times before smashing through the wall of the Blossom Close home and coming to a rest on its roof. The driver and single occupant of the vehicle sustained fatal head injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him, he was declared deceased on the scene,” he said.

The cause of the incident is unclear added Van Reenen.

This was the second deadly crash in the space of eight hours following a head-on collision between a SUV and a car on the N2 near Zinkwazi which left three people dead.
