Bike thieves busted in Briardene

The suspects and their vehicles were handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS.

THREE suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of several motorbikes across the greater Durban area. Recently a number of motorbikes in the Greenwood Park area. The suspects were arrested by Marshall Security in Briardene on Friday morning.

“We conducted an operation during the early hours of Friday morning, following several incidents of theft of motorcycles. We then received a tip off that five suspects were entering the area in two light delivery vehicles. One of the vehicles was spotted in the Briardene area and we gave chase and stopped the vehicle,” said the company’s Kyle van Reenen.

He added that two of the suspects managed to flee on foot.

“Two suspects jumped out of the vehicle fleeing on foot, while their two accomplices were arrested. A search for the two men was conducted, however, they remain at large. Acting on information our team were then led to the location of the second vehicle where the driver was also arrested,” he added.

The suspects and their vehicles were handed over to the Greenwood Park police.
