Durban affected by another large power outage

The municipality said they are experiencing intermittent problems with its Klaarwater Power Station.

A SECOND power outage has struck parts of the Durban CBD.

City spokesperson Tozi Mthetwa explained the cause of the latest power outage.

“We profusely apologise for the recent power outage. We are still experiencing intermittent problems with our Klaarwater Power Station. We are doing everything to have everyone reconnected to the grid.”

Earlier this month, an explosion at the 275kv Klaarwater major substation caused widespread power outage to about 50 per cent of the areas in Durban.

Some of the affected areas
Hillcrest, Musgrave, Morningside, Maydon Wharf, uShaka, parts of CBD, Pinetown and Queensburgh.
