Armed gang rob uMgeni Park home

The armed gang is still at large.

JUST a day after an armed gang robbed a Somerset Park complex, another home invasion has taken place. In the last three months, there has been more than nine armed robberies in the north Durban area. In the latest incident, a gang of five suspects targeted a Buttery Road (uMgeni Park) home before holding up the occupants of the home.

“The suspects forced opened the front door and derailed the security gate. Three suspects stormed the home while their accomplices waited in the getaway vehicle. The men ransacked the home taking several items including, TVs, cell phones and jewellery. No one was injured in the incident. The vehicle was spotted in the Effingham area,” Andreas Mathios of Blue Security said.

According to Sun Cell Watch, the neighbours spotted the suspect’s vehicle, a black Ford Ranger being driven away from the scene.

The robbery comes after a day after a similar incident in Somerset Drive. According to Kyle van Reenen of Marshall Security, the three-man gang derailed the gate of the home just after 3am.

The gang ransacked the home and fled in the homeowner’s Audi A3.

Both gangs are still at large.
