uMgeni Park crash driver nowhere to be found

The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing.

GREENWOOD Park police are investigating a crash which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the accident occurred at about 3.30am.

“Paramedics responded to a motor vehicle collision on Riverside Road in Umgeni Park. On arrival on scene the team were met with the twisted frame of a Chevrolet LDV. The driver or any other occupant of the vehicle despite an extensive search, could not be located. The scene was handed over to the SAPS for further investigation and processing,” he said.

The accident comes almost 24 hours after a bus collided with a car at the intersection of Joseph Avenue and Umhlanga Rocks Drive.

Netcare 911 paramedics were also on scene to attend to the victim, a woman believed to be 30-years-old.
