VIDEO: Gangs of Ballet frontman signs Northwood learner

Andrew Sutton said being the first talent to be signed by Brad Klynsmith was a humbling experience.

AS a former Northwood learner, Gangs of Ballet lead singer, Brad Klynsmith, has always had a passion for mentoring young up-and-coming talent. He recently opened his own management agency and incredibly has signed a teenage music sensation, Andrew Sutton. The Grade 11 learner, also at Northwood, has now released his first single, One More Chance.

Northglen News recently caught up with the musical prodigy to find out more about his musical journey.

“I’ve always loved music, my parents always tell me stories about me performing from a young age. It’s one of my biggest passions in life and I don’t feel forced into it, I just naturally enjoy singing. I think for me the bug really bit when I won the Gateway To Fame competition at the age of nine. That literally opened so many doors for me,” he explained.

Sutton said being the first talent to be signed by Klynsmith was a humbling experience.

“I’m a huge fan of Gangs of Ballet, I have so many of their songs on my phone so meeting Brad, someone I look up to, was amazing. I was fortunate enough to open for Gangs of Ballet and Matthew Mole in Johannesburg which was amazing. It’s been a long-time dream of mine to be a performing artist and Brad is opening the doors to make it a reality. I’m so thankful for the chance to live my dream,” he said.

His debut single ‘One More Chance’ written by Brad and produced by the SAMA-nominated producer Ewald Jansen Van Rensburg from the group Monark is now out on Apple iTunes.
