7 injured in Queen Nandi Drive accident

Traffic was severely affected following the accident.

SEVEN people were injured in an accident involving a taxi and a vehicle on Queen Nandi Drive on Monday morning.

According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the accident occurred at about 7am.

“The minibus and car had collided in a T-bone fashion. Seven commuters sustained minor injuries and were attended to on scene before being taken to hospital for further care. Traffic was severely affected as emergency workers cleared the scene,” he explained.

The accident follows one on Sunday evening where a pedestrian was killed while trying to cross the freeway.

“The gender and approximate age of the deceased could not be obtained on initial assessment, due to the severity of the injuries sustained. A driver and single occupant of the minibus suffered minor injuries and was attended to on scene before being taken to a nearby hospital for further care,” Van Reenen said.
