Glen Anil driveway damaged by cable laying

The residents are concerned that heavy rains will damage the driveway even more.

A GLEN Anil couple has expressed their anger at the placing of fibre optic cabling in the area which they say has damaged driveway and has inconvenienced them. The residents say they have had no communication from the company involved.

Northglen News met with one of the residents, Andre Franz, who lives on Sagewood Way who shares a driveway with his neighbour.

“We are asking to be treated fairly. We don’t have a problem with the work they are doing but don’t damage property without fixing it. When the company first dug up our verges they didn’t touch the driveway, however when they did, they damaged it substantially. The tar on the driveway has been damaged so badly that it makes it difficult to get in and out of our driveway.

“I’ve even had to place wood and bricks to get some grip on the driveway. It is particularly tricky reversing up the driveway, sometimes I stall and I have to make sure that my gate, which is on a timer, is open. My wife and I are angry about this. We share a driveway and our neighbour has also been affected. All we are asking for is to restore our driveway to the way it was, it has been more than three months and yet nothing has been done,” he said.
