Taxi driver smashes side mirror in road rage incident

A case of malicious damage to property had been opened at the police station.

A TAXI driver is in hot water after he allegedly used his warning triangle to smash a motorist’s side mirror in a road rage incident on Monday. According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the incident occurred at about 8.15am on the N2 near the Sibaya off-ramp.

“There was traffic congestion on the N2 and the taxi driver was attempting to drive along the yellow lane to get ahead. One of the motorists prevented him from going any further by partly blocking the lane. The taxi driver then allegedly took out his warning triangle, and as he drove past the man, damaged his side mirror using the triangle,” he said.
