“I played different pieces in each round. During the competition I had to play works from the Baroque, classical, and Romantic eras, and a 20th century piece. The romantic era is my favourite period. I think what I love about the piano is how you are able to express your emotions. I’m able to tell a story and give back to the audience by letting them listen to me play. The piano is definitely one of the most expressive instruments in the world,” the Durban Girls’ College learner said.
