Security guard shot in KwaMashu cash-in-transit robbery
The security guard is in a critical condition.

A SECURITY guard is in a critical condition after he was shot in the head during a cash-in-transit robbery at a business on Malendela Road in KwaMashu earlier on Saturday. Netcare 911 paramedics as well as Reaction Unit South Africa were also on scene following the shooting.
According to a post on RUSA’s Facebook, the guard’s colleague suffered moderate injuries after he fell during the shootout.

“Both security officers were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital. It is alleged that several suspects entered the supermarket while the security officers were uplifting cash. The suspects opened fire inside and outside the store before stealing several cash boxes containing an undisclosed amount of cash,” the post said.

The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
