POLICE and Marshall Security have warned motorists to avoid the M19 at the uMgeni interchange. This after protesters blocked part of the road by burning tyres, and other debris. Kyle van Reenen said while traffic wasn’t being severely affected, motorists should avoid the area.
It’s unclear what the protests are about. Similar scenes played out on Monday and Metro Police were forced to divert traffic.
Last year several service delivery protests flared up after several shacks were destroyed in the area.
