Teenager injured in vehicle roll over
Traffic was severely affected following the accident.
A TEENAGER was injured after his car overturned on Umgeni Road on Tuesday afternoon. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the accident occurred at about 2.30pm.
“When we arrived on scene, the BMW had overturned coming to a rest on its roof. The driver and single occupant of the vehicle, approximately eighteen years of age, sustained serious injuries and advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize him before he was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
“Reports from the scene suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with several other vehicles, before overturning. There were no injuries sustained by any other motorists involved in the incident. Traffic in the area was severely affected as emergency services worked to clear the scene,” he said.
