The shocking video shows the taxi crossing the centre median, crashing into a pedestrian and several parked cars.
SHOCKING footage of a taxi accident on North Coast Road on Sunday has emerged. The video, which is not for sensitive viewers, shows the taxi crossing the centre median before smashing into a man waiting on the other side of the road. The taxi also smashes into two parked cars. At least 18 people, including two infants, were injured in the collision. According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the taxi, after colliding with the vehicle, crashed into a building.
“A man believed to be approximately 80 years old suffered serious injuries and was entrapped in the wreckage. Advanced life support intervention was needed to stabilize the man whilst Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services worked fervently to free the man using specialized hydraulic equipment, including the jaws of life. Once free, the man was placed onto a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” Van Reenen said.
