VIDEO-Durban factory goes up in flames

Wax panels inside the warehouse caught alight which makes it harder for the fire department to contain.

FIREFIGHTERS are battling a raging blaze at a factory on South Coast Road. According to Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson one person has been treated so far.

“Wax panels inside the warehouse caught alight which makes it harder for the fire department to contain. Part of the factory has collapsed. Rescue Care paramedics and other emergency crews are at the scene of the blaze. One person, a 35-year-old was treated and transported to hospital,” he said.

The smoke from the blaze can be seen from as far as uMhlanga. Visuals have also shown the smoke visible from the esplanade and the Durban CBD, driven by a gusting wind.
