uMhlanga’s beaches come out unscathed

Umhlanga's UIP employed extra temporary staff for the clean up this week.

DURBANITES were stunned by the awesome waves which flooded local beaches this past weekend.

“uMhlanga’s beaches came off relatively unscathed from the recent severe weather“, Dewet Geldenhuys said.

Umhlanga’s Urban Improvement Precinct operations manager said that large amounts of sand was deposited along the uMhlanga promenade from the lighthouse and pier up to Main Beach, Millenium Stage, Bronze Beach and the grass areas.

The UIP employed extra temporary staff for the clean up this week. Most of the sand has been cleared from the along promenade, with only a few areas remaining to be cleaned.
