Man dies after Effingham pool accident

An inquest has been opened at the Greenwood Park SAPS.

GREENWOOD Park SAPS has opened an inquest into the death of a 41-year-old who died after a freak accident during the December holidays. The man lost his life just days after diving into the pool and breaking his neck in the accident.

Carlo Indolent, a 41-year-old Newlands East man was in a critical condition when he was rescued by lifeguards at the pool. W/O Leon Audh, spokesman for the Greenwood Park police confirmed an inquest had been opened following the death.

The incident occurred at the Firwood Road Swimming Pool. When he was transported to King Edward VIII Hospital, paramedics confirmed the father of two was in a critical condition.

He was placed on a ventilator while he was being transported to hospital
