Five arrested after Glen Anil hijacking

Three of the suspects have been positively linked to several hijackings in the Greenwood Park area.

FIVE men have been arrested after a hijacking in Glen Anil on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred on The Curl at about 5.20pm confirmed Marshall Security’s Tyron Powell.  The car, a Chery QQ3 was later recovered in Mt Moriah.

“The victim had just arrived home and was at her main gate when two unarmed suspects accosted her. One of them held her around the neck and pulled the car keys from her. The men then drove off with her car. After circulating information to the police, two suspects were arrested by the SAPS Inanda Cluster Task Team within 30 minutes of the hijacking.

“Two of the men arrested were positively identified by the victim. The men then gave up information to their accomplices and three other suspects were arrested at a later stage. One of the hijackers was still wearing the victim’s jacket which had been stolen. The trio have been linked to several hijacking cases in Greenwood Park,” he said.
